NACE International, The Worldwide Corrosion Authority, serves nearly 36,000+ members in 140 countries and is recognized globally as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions. The organization offers technical training and certification programs, conferences, industry standards, reports, publications, technical journals, government relations activities and more. NACE International is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with offices in San Diego, California; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Shanghai, China, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

NACE International was established in 1943 by eleven corrosion engineers from the pipeline industry as the “National Association of Corrosion Engineers.” The founding engineers were originally part of a regional group formed in the 1930s when the study of cathodic protection was introduced. Since then, NACE International has become the global leader in developing corrosion prevention and control standards, certification and education. The members of NACE International still include engineers, as well as numerous other professionals working in a range of areas related to corrosion control.

The NACE San Antonio section was re-formed in 2010 by petition initiated by Cal Chapman, Jack Goodwin, Florent Boucher and Jeff Perry.  The NACE San Antonio Section operated in the 80s and 90s but was disbanded due to lack of participation and interest.  With the Ealge Ford Shale boom starting in 2010, the NACE San Antonio section was revived with increased interest and participation. Today the section boasts over 200 local members with attendance at quarterly meetings nearing 50 people regularly.

Membership to the NACE San Antonio Section is free, but requires membership with NACE International.  Special events and technical meetings are open to members and non-members.  Please see below for information about joining NACE International:
